Ange Lorraine carries one-of-a-kind extremely rare heart-shaped gold Philippine South Sea Saltwater Pearls. Grown in the pristine waters of the Philippines, these heart-shaped pearls are genuine pearls certified under the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) through batch-testing, to assure consistent quality and authenticity. You may find that other establishments feature heart-shaped pearl-like gemstones, however, those are “Mabe” pearls, which, scientifically, speaking, are not true pearls, as they are grown against the inside of the shell, rather than inside the body of the mollusk like a traditional pearl. Not only are Ange Lorraine’s heart-shaped Gold South Sea Pearls all grown on the inside of the body of the Pinctada maxima oyster, but they are also closely homogeneous in heart shape, and do not feature any flat surfaces like the rest of the heart-shaped pearls out in the market.
It takes many years to not only grow, but also to find a perfect match for these pearls, because the Pinctada maxima oyster produces pearls in varying shades ranging from gold to white. For every Pinctada maxima oyster that harbors a pearl, there is no way to tell until after several years, if the pearl has settled into either its natural shape or into a heart, through a proprietary process of Ange Lorraine’s heart-shaped Gold Philippine South Sea Pearls. As far as the class of South Sea Pearls is concerned, the value of the South Sea pearl is relative to how deep in gold color the pearl is, along with the shape. Pearl colors and qualities are dictated by the ebbs and flows of the Philippine waters. Coupled with water chemistry and biodiversity, the healthier the water, the more lustrous and brilliant the pearl. These features are some of the reasons that earned the Gold Philippine South Sea Pearl the title of The Largest and Most Valuable Pearl in the World.
Because of the nature of the rarity of the Pinctada maxima oyster, we have a limited number of Ange Lorraine’s Signature Gold Philippine Heart-Shaped South Sea Saltwater Pearl Solitaire Pendants that we can offer, only once per calendar year — the month of February, in honor of St. Valentine’s Month. Pearl harvests may be affected at any time due to inclement weather in the tropics, such as typhoons or storm surges. This is why our stocks are on a pre-order, if not a custom-order basis, as South Sea Pearls command special harvesting times and techniques, but most of all, we see to it that our pearl divers’ health and safety are a priority. Thus, the shipping and handling time indicated below is an approximation. Ange Lorraine will always inform the customer as soon as possible, if any changes will be made to shipping and handling times. There is, of course, always the possibility that you receive your merchandise sooner.
We recommend adding your contact information to our waitlist to stay in touch.
Please bear in mind that the jewelry that you will be receiving will not be the exact one featured in the listing, nor will you receive a copy of the GIA report pictured in the listing, however will still possess the same qualities that you see. Quantifying an exact factor is not always possible when it comes to anything made by natural means and so, any perceived imperfections are merely a fingerprint of the natural process — a sign to be appreciated, alluding to the fact that your pearls are genuine and true originals, and that your vintage or antique ribbon has truly stood the test of time. Our heart-shaped gold Philippine South Sea pearls range from 11.0 mm in diameter (of the longest length) and up.
The current production and shipping time for this product, as of February 2023, runs between 6 to 8 weeks upon the customer’s date of purchase.
